Community Food Bank Requests Volunteers
Monday, June 07, 2010Volunteers are needed to assemble emergency food boxes at the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. They have received a $2 million grant to purchase food for at-risk families this summer. That's enough food to feed 58,000 people in our service area. The food is in the warehouse, but they can't distribute it until emergency food boxes have been assembled. These boxes must be distributed by September 30th per the stipulations of the grant.
The Sisters of St. Joseph Monastery will be helping to do this on Tuesday, June 15th in 2 shifts:
From 1:00 – 3:00pm and 5:30 – 8:00pm
If you would like to join the Sisters in this effort on that day for either of these shifts please let us know by Monday, June 14th so we can let them know how many volunteers to expect.
